Brookfield Farms Celebrates First Completed Home, Bringing New Housing Opportunities to Henry County
New Castle’s READI 2.0-supported residential development marks a milestone with a ribbon cutting and strong early home sales.
A new neighborhood is taking shape in New Castle, and the community recently gathered to celebrate an exciting milestone: the ribbon cutting and open house for the first completed home at Brookfield Farms, a Ryan Homes development in Henry County.
Located along Washington Street near Wilbur Wright School, Brookfield Farms is bringing new single-family housing options to New Castle. The development has room for 83 homes, and early interest has been strong, with 19 homes already sold.
Forge ECI President and CEO, Caitlin Hancock, attended the ribbon cutting alongside local leaders, development partners, and community members to celebrate the project’s progress.
A New Neighborhood Takes Shape
The ribbon cutting offered guests a chance to tour the first completed home and see what future residents can expect as Brookfield Farms continues to develop.
The two-story home, with its welcoming front entrance and attached garage, provided a glimpse of the neighborhood beginning to emerge. While the first home is now complete, construction activity nearby points to the additional homes and new neighbors still to come.
With 19 homes sold, Brookfield Farms is already moving beyond the planning stage and becoming a place where families and individuals can put down roots in Henry County.
Investing in Housing Through READI 2.0
Brookfield Farms is part of East Central Indiana’s READI 2.0 investment in housing, supporting the region’s efforts to expand residential options and prepare communities for future growth.
Housing plays an important role in economic development. When employers look to grow and communities work to attract and retain talent, the availability of homes is a key part of the conversation. New residential developments give current residents more choices while creating opportunities for people who want to move to the region.
For New Castle, Brookfield Farms represents an investment not only in new construction, but also in the community’s ability to welcome additional residents and support its long-term growth.
Celebrating Progress Through Partnership
The ribbon cutting was an opportunity to recognize the people and partnerships helping bring Brookfield Farms to life.
Projects like this require coordination among developers, local leaders and regional partners who share a commitment to creating places where people want to live. Seeing the first home completed—and learning that 19 homes have already sold—made the progress especially tangible for those in attendance.
For Forge ECI, celebrating milestones like this is an important part of the READI 2.0 story. The work of supporting regional investment often happens behind the scenes, but events like the Brookfield Farms ribbon cutting offer a chance to see those efforts taking shape in our communities.
Building More Opportunities in East Central Indiana
As Brookfield Farms continues to grow, each new home will add to the housing choices available in New Castle and Henry County.
The development is one example of how East Central Indiana communities are investing in the foundations of future growth. Alongside efforts to strengthen downtowns, expand recreation, support employers and improve quality of place, new housing helps create communities where people can build their lives.
With its first completed home open and more homes on the way, Brookfield Farms is turning a regional investment into a new neighborhood—one home at a time.
